How to Measure: Step-by-Step
This measurement step-by-step guide will help you take your size easily and correctly.
๐ ๏ธ Tools Youโll Need:
- A soft measuring tape
- A mirror (optional but helpful)
- Someone to help you (optional)
- Paper and pen/pencil (to record)
๐ Measurement Steps:
- Bust / Chest: Wrap the tape around the fullest part of your chest. Keep it straight and not too tight. Measure when your lungs are filled with air. Ensure the tape stays level at the back.
- Waist: Find the narrowest part of your waist (usually above your belly button). Wrap the tape around it comfortably. Donโt hold your breath.
- Hips: Stand with your feet together. Measure around the widest part of your hips (usually 7โ9 inches below your waist). Ensure the tape wraps evenly.
- Shoulder: Measure straight from one shoulder bone to the other across your upper back. Keep your posture straight.
- Armhole: Wrap the tape around the outer edge of your shoulder and under your armpit. Donโt hold your arm too tight. Take the full round measure where the arm joins the body.
- Sleeve Length: Start from the top of your shoulder and measure down to your desired sleeve length (short, 3/4, or full).
- Shirt / Kameez Length: Start from the top of your shoulder and measure down to where you want the shirt/kameez to end.
- Pant / Trouser Length: Measure from your waist down to your ankle or desired length.
- Thigh: Wrap the tape around the thickest part of your thigh.
- Calf (for trousers or churidar): Measure around the fullest part of your calf.
